Learn how to use Leapfrog’s analytics features to visualize and extract insights from your research data
Analytics
Leapfrog analytics provides visualization and filtering tools for coded qualitative research data. Analytics enables identification of patterns, trends, and relationships in tags and quotes across research documents.
Analytics Dashboard
The analytics dashboard is accessible from the Codes page in a workspace. It displays visualizations of tags and quotes created in research documents.
Tag Chart Visualizations
Chart Types
- Bar Chart: Displays tag frequency counts.
- Bubble Chart: Visualizes tag distribution with proportional bubbles.
- Network Chart: Shows relationships and co-occurrence between tags.
Access
- Navigate to the Codes page in a workspace.
- Select the Tag Chart tab.
- Choose a chart type.
Filtering and Customization
Filtering Options
- Tag-based filters: Focus on specific tags or tag groups.
- Document field filters: Filter by document metadata (e.g., participant demographics, dates).
- Date range filters: Restrict analysis to specific time periods.
- Multi-criteria filters: Combine multiple filter conditions.
Creating Filters
- Click the Filter button in the chart interface.
- Select filter type (tag, document field, date).
- Set filter criteria.
- Apply the filter.
Document Field Filtering
- Filter by participant characteristics, research phase, user group, or document type using document fields.
Tag Relationships
Tag Co-occurrence
- Network Chart displays connections between tags.
- Thicker lines indicate stronger relationships (higher co-occurrence).
- Clusters represent related tag groups.
Tag Distribution
- Bar Chart and Bubble Chart show tag distribution across research data.
- Filters can be applied to compare tag distribution across segments.
Highlight Exploration
- Click any tag or data point in a visualization to view associated highlights (quotes).
- Highlights panel displays the full context of each quote.
- Click a highlight to navigate to its source document.
Exporting and Sharing
- Use browser screenshot tools to capture visualizations.
- Export data to CSV for external analysis.
- Share direct links to filtered views with workspace collaborators.
Use Cases
- Identify prevalent themes in user feedback.
- Compare feedback between user groups.
- Track theme evolution over time or across research phases.
- Map relationships between user needs or pain points.
- Collect supporting quotes for research findings.
